Parks Maintenance Worker

$2,537—3,506 monthly

The City of Florence is accepting applications for a Parks Maintenance Worker to join our Public Works team!

Position Summary: Perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and improvements to parks buildings, street trees, grounds, and equipment. Performs a variety of technical landscape construction duties, including plant flowers, shrubs, and trees, pruning, and repairing damaged trees, making and repairing tree wells, irrigating, mowing, and fertilizing turf, trimming and planting, fertilizing, and pruning shrubs. Participates in inspecting, maintaining, repairing and constructing developed and undeveloped parks, playgrounds, athletic, and other related facilities and properties.

Qualifications: Good working knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair techniques and equipment, horticulture, small engine maintenance and repair. An equivalent to a high school education or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

Desirable Qualifications: General knowledge of or courses in irrigation system design and maintenance, routine service of light and heavy vehicles and other power driven equipment, parks and landscaping.
