Notice of FURA Budget Hearing

A public meeting of the Florence Urban Renewal Agency will be held on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at 5:30 pm at Florence City Hall, 250 Highway 101, Florence, Oregon. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the budget for the biennium beginning July 1, 2023 as approved by the Florence Urban Renewal Agency Budget Committee on May 8, 2023. A summary of the budget is presented below. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained at Florence City Hall, between the hours of 8 a. m. and 12 p. m. and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. or online at https://ci.florence.or.us. This budget is for a biennial budget period, July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025. This budget was prepared on a basis of accounting used the preceding year.

Meetings are also shown live on Cable Channel 191 and online at https://video.ibm.com/channel/Hjzx9zagzZc. Those without access to the internet or Charter Cable may listen to the meeting live via phone conference line. To do so, contact City Recorder Lindsey White at 541-997-3437.

  1. On May 24, 2023, 5:30 p.m., the Approved 2023-25 Biennial Budget will be discussed and public comment will be received.  Any person may appear at the meeting to ask questions or provide comments.  Written comments may be submitted prior to 3:30 pm on May 24, 2023 to the Administrative Services Director’s Office, 250 Highway 101, Florence, OR 97439

The Approved Budget will be available on the FURA website at FURA Budget Information www.ci.florence.or.us/urbanrenewal/fura-budget-information-0; or a copy may be inspected or obtained on May 19th, or anytime thereafter, at Florence City Hall by appointment.

Persons wishing to address the Budget Committee may submit comments in writing or may provide verbal comments. Written testimony may be submitted by:

  • Email to the Administrative Services Director at anne.baker@ci.florence.or.us;

  • Mail to Florence City Hall; Attn: Budget Committee, 250 Hwy 101, Florence, OR 97439;

  • Drop off at City of Florence drop box located at Florence City Hall (250 Hwy 101) to the right of the main entrance.

** Note: Written comments must be received at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting to be distributed to the Budget Committee and made part of the record.

Citizens may provide verbal comments / testimony at the meeting or via the GotoWebinar platform. In order to participate verbally at the meeting, citizens are required to complete a speaker’s card at least 1 hour prior to the start of the meeting.
