The Florence City Council will be holding two public hearings on May 6, 2024, at 5:30 PM, at Florence City Hall, located at 250 Hwy 101. The hearings will address the Rhododendron Drive and 35th Street Reimbursement District and the proposed sale of city property.

The City of Florence elects members of the Florence City Council during the November general election of even years. The Mayor and two of the four City Councilors are elected during each election cycle.  

The next election for these positions open on the Florence City Council and will be filled in the November 2024 General Election:

On Monday, September 11, 2023, the Florence City Council voted to adopt Ordinance No. 8. Series 2023 allowing a vehicle to on-street park for 72 hours before requiring it to move a minimum of a 600' radius, not allowing the vehicle to return the same area for 14 days after its departure. The ordinance also prohibits on-street parking for vehicles with expired tags, regardless of the length of time for which it is parked. The ordinance went into effect 30 days after September 11th, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
