In 2019, the City is updated zoning code amendments to support development of needed housing. Florence's residential zoning and land division codes are more than 35 years old and reflect development patterns and housing styles of that period.
For the most up-to-date information, visit the Link Lane website at https://link-lane.org.
The Florence - Yachats connector bus makes four round-trips each day, departing from the Florence Grocery Outlet stop (21st & Spruce Street), making one stop at Carl G. On June 20, 2018, the City of Florence began permitting Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in every residential zoning district. The location of your home and factors such as the availability of water & sewer services, the percentage of your property covered by structures and impervious surfaces like driveways and sidewalks, the availability of parking, and others will determine your ability to place an ADU on your property.
On December 14, 2015, the Florence Planning Commission and City Council set city regulations on where and how producing (growing), processing (manufacture), testing, wholesaling, and retail sales of medical and recreational marijuana can happen.
Details about which zoning districts these activities are permitted can be found in the attached table below "Where Can Someone...". After viewing this table visit the City of Florence Zoning Map to see where these zones are located. Policies related to operations can be found in Chapter 4 of Title 10 of City on pages 7-8.
