Hazard Planning
While beautiful, the Oregon Coast, and Florence in particular, lies at an intersection of natural hazards and threats to life and property. One task of the Florence Planning Department, in conjunction with our other Western Lane Emergency Operations Group (WLEOG) community partners such as Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue and Western Lane Ambulance District, is to assess hazards and plan to lessen their impact through comprehensive, long-term mitigation plans; project-specific review; regulation; and policy implementation.
