The Human Resources Director performs a variety of professional and technical functions required to administer human resource programs including recruitment, compensation, evaluation processes, safety programs, employee benefits, training and labor relations.  This position also provides consulting services to City departments related to all aspects of human resources programs and activities.

Duties of the Human Resources Director include:

  • Manages the City’s personnel handbook and policies
  • Maintains personnel records and administers the processing of forms in compliance with City policies and State and Federal laws
  • Plans, designs, and conducts recruitment and selection activities
  • Conducts new employee orientations
  • Maintains the City’s Performance Evaluation program
  • Assists the City Manager and Department Directors with collective bargaining activities
