A contractor for ODOT will begin construction next week on a project to rebuild and repave two sections of OR 126 (Florence-Eugene Hwy), in and east of Florence.

The two segments of highway targeted with this project will connect other segments of OR 126 that were repaved during previous projects.

• One segment will improve the highway from near Spruce Street in Florence, east for approximately one-half mile.

• Another segment will run from milepost 1.5, east of the North Fork Siuslaw Bridge, east for approximately 6.5 miles.

The $3.42 million dollar low-bid contract was awarded to Oregon Mainline Paving, LLC of McMinnville, Oregon.
