Building Inspection Program Audits

The State of Oregon requires any city or county using a contracted building official to undergo an audit and ensure the results of that audit are made available.  The City of Florence uses a contracted building official and so in accordance with ORS 455.202(6) the audits of the City of Florence's Building Inspection Program are being made available on its website.

The audits are performed by an independent auditor who examines the finances of the city’s building inspection program at least once every two years.  The audits examine the collection and usage of permit fees and their expenditures since the last audit. The audits also seek to verify that the city is dedicating all fees collected for plan review, permit issuance or administering and enforcing specialty codes only to the purposes specified in ORS 455.210 and 479.845. The City of Florence performed its first audit in 2023, one year after the new law's effective date of January 1, 2022.

These reports are included below and can be made available at Florence City Hall 250 Highway 101, by calling 541-997-8237 or by emailing: florencepermits@ci.florence.or.us.
