City Seeks Proposals for Marketing and Communication Services

FLORENCE – The City of Florence (City) is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or firms to provide marketing and communications services for the City. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to provide all of the following: creative development of advertising (including but not limited to radio, television, print, digital and outdoor); branding; promotions; marketing; and media support services.

The City receives certain tax revenue, called transient room tax (TRT) from the temporary lodging facilities, including hotel and motel rooms. It is the practice of the City to use these funds for services related to the accommodation of guests in the community and to also dedicate a portion of the TRT for advertising and marketing in such a way as to encourage more people to come, stay, recreate, and shop in Florence.

As a result of the Florence Event Center (FEC) Special Committee recommendations made in 2013 during the process of finding sustainable funding for the FEC, staff worked with the City Attorney and prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) (Attachment 1) to seek proposals from entities that can plan and implement a visitor and marketing services program for the City. The main objective is to ensure a fair and competitive process. It is the City’s intent to award the funds to one entity.

Submittals will be received until 5:00 pm on February 13, 2014.

The full request for proposals can be found below.
