"If I Were Mayor..." Contest

City Logo

Mayor Rob Ward, along with Dunes City Mayor Ed McGuire and the Oregon Mayors Association (OMA), recently held the annual "If I Were Mayor..." contest. This competition provides students with the opportunity to share their create and inspirational ideas about what they would do if they were in the role of mayor.

This contest encourages young minds to think critically about leadership, civic engagement, and community improvement. Through essays, posters, and videos, students present their vision for a better future, highlighting the values and initiatives they believe would benefit their city.

The contest is part of a statewide effort organized by OMA to engage youth in local government and inspire future leaders. Winning entries may receive recognition at the local and state levels.
