Companies located on the Oregon Coast have greatly benefited from the strategic advantage of plentiful and reliable utilities, a critical foundation for company growth. The region's abundant water supply powers a low-cost power grid and addresses Florence’s demand for clean energy sources. Florence is uniquely equipped on the Oregon Coast with infrastructure such as high speed internet, 4G cellular, highway access to the north, south, and east providing direct access to Interstate 5; public transportation; the Florence Airport and the Port of Siuslaw.

Electricity – Florence’s location gives customers access to both hydroelectric and wind power. The region's abundant hydroelectric power contributes to below-average industrial electricity prices in Oregon. Florence’s electricity generation is 99% carbon-free with none of it coming from coal. Please see Central Lincoln PUD for more information.

Water - Companies are rapidly moving the issue of water scarcity from the sustainability agenda to a key business risk consideration. Locating a business in Florence alleviates the risk of having a limited water supply. Ample water is supplied by the City of Florence within the majority of the City limits property and through Heceta Water People's Utility District for some northern properties. In addition, the City continues to be recognized as an outstanding performer by the Oregon Health Authority, Drinking Water Services.

Wastewater – The City of Florence provides wastewater services within the City limits.  Its modern facility has sufficient capacity to accommodate growth. The City consistently seeks to apply innovative approaches to managing waste as with the FloGro program is an environmentally friendly way to reduce the amount of money the City spends on hauling biosolids and reduce yard debris.

Public Transit – Provided through a combination of public entities.  Florence’s public transportation circulates through the city, as well as to Yachats, Eugene and Coos Bay. For more information visit the City of Florence website.
