Accessing City Services
As of Monday, June 14th, City facilities will generally be reopened to the public. Florence City Hall will be open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. The Florence Justice Center and the Florence Public Works Operations Facility will resume being open to the public during their normal business hours.
The Florence City Council met in a work session on Monday, June 7th to review the strategy for reopening and resuming public meetings in-person. Additional details and facility/department specific information is outlined below.
Face Coverings & Physical Distancing
Face covering requirements will remain in place until the State of Oregon reaches the 70% vaccination goal and lifts the statewide requirements. City staff and volunteers will follow OSHA requirements for the work place and continue to wear face coverings until those restrictions are lifted. Physical distancing will remain in effect as well until those requirements are lifted. Face coverings will be available at each facility for those entering the buildings.
Florence Events Center
The City is working to reestablish staffing levels at the Florence Events Center. Due to limited staffing at this time, the first set of doors will be unlocked and staff and/or volunteers will be available to assist patrons at the ticket window. The facility will be fully open during events, and as we reestablish staffing and volunteer levels.
Municipal Court
The Florence Municipal Court customer service window will reopen June 14th. Hours of operation will be Monday-Thursday, 8am to 4pm.
Public Meetings
As of August 11th, City of Florence public meetings will be held virtually. This applies to all City Council, Planning Commission, Urban Renewal, and City Committees.
Virtual Services
The City will continue to offer a variety of virtual services, including access to public meetings, after in-person services resume. We acknowledge that there are community members who remain at a higher risk, are unable to be vaccinated, and/or remain uncomfortable with in-person contact at this time. We will continue to be flexible and work to offer services in a variety of methods to reach the greatest amount of community members.
