How do I find out whether someone has a criminal history or review my own criminal history?

To request a copy of your own Oregon criminal history record or a clearance letter indicating that you have no Oregon criminal history you will need to come to the Florence Justice Center when fingerprinting service is being offered, complete a form available at the Florence Justice Center and submit a $33.00 check or money order payable to Oregon State Police, along with the completely "Own Record Request Form". Notarized requests are an additional $5.00. Mail the above documents to:

The results, along with the fingerprint cards submitted will be returned to you. Please allow 5-10 business days to receive your response from Oregon State Police. Due to the confidentiality of criminal history information, results will be mailed only to the requestor. For additional information, please contact the Oregon State Police at 503-378-3070.

To request criminal history information on someone else pursuant to ORS 181.555 and ORS 181.560 you may contact Oregon State Police directly. You may download the PDF form "Request for Oregon Criminal History Information", and follow the instructions on the form. Oregon State Police charges $10.00 for each inquiry/request. You may come into the Florence Justice Center in person and obtain the necessary form.

The person whose history is being accessed and reported to you will be notified by the Oregon State Police of the fact you have made the inquiry. Billing accounts may be set up with Oregon State Police and request may be faxed once the account is set up.

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Last Name
  • First Name
  • Middle Name, if known.
  • Alias/Maiden Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Approximate Age if Date of Birth is not known.
  • Social Security Number, if known.
  • Current of last known address.

Be aware that failure to supply complete information may affect the results of the inquiry.
 

While some people have warrants for their arrest posted on your website, if I am not listed there how would I find out if there is a warrant for my arrest?

You may come into the Florence Justice Center in person and make the request to any on duty communications officer.
 

How do I find out if someone is in jail in the Florence Police Department Jail Facility?

Citizen's may call the Florence Police Department at 541-997-3515 and inquire or come to the Florence Justice Center and speak with a Communications Officer. When people are currently in custody in the Florence Police Department Jail Facility, it is public record during the time while the person is in custody only.
