Prescription Drug Disposal Program

Drug Take Back

The City of Florence is pleased to offer a Consumer Drug Take-Back receptacle at the Florence Justice Center. Proper medication disposal is a vital part of community safety. By participating in this program, our residents play a direct role in preventing prescription drug misuse, reducing accidental poisonings, and protecting our environment. If you have expired or unused medications, we encourage you to take advantage of this free and convenient service.

The receptacle is located in the front hallway near the dispatch window of the Florence Justice Center, located at 900 Greenwood Street, Florence, Oregon. It is available to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We accept:
✅ Unused or expired prescription medications
✅ Over-the-counter medications

We cannot accept:
❌ Thermometers
❌ Needles or sharps (used needles or lancets)
❌ Aerosol cans
❌ Illegal drugs

Please note: Due to the construction of the receptacle and its relatively small size, do not package containers together in boxes. Additionally, we do not accept any liquid medications. This service is intended for public use only and is not available to commercial facilities.

We hope this disposal option helps keep our families safe and our waterways clean here in Florence!
