Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015 the Florence Planning Commission held one public hearing and one voted on one action item. Their decisions are as follows:
• Porter Boat Lift, PC 15 16 CUP 09— A Conditional Use Permit application to remove 37 creosote piles (formerly Spruce Point Mill) from the waterway and construct a new private boatlift, gangway, and two mooring buoys in the Siuslaw River near the applicant’s residence. PC continued the hearing to October 27th with written testimony accepted until 5pm October 13th. PC has asked requested input from Army Corps of Engineers and also requests testimony addressing the effect of pile removal on bank stability.
• Stillwater, AR 15 05 DR 04— A Design Review request for exterior modifications including replacing ledgestone and board and batten with lap siding on the condominium building and replacing board and batten and southern ledgestone with lap siding on the mixed use building located at 1220 Bay Street within Old Town Area A. PC voted 6-0 to approve the modifications.
