Art Exposed Program Finalists
The City of Florence Public Arts Committee is pleased to announce the finalists for the Art Exposed Old Town 2025-2027 cycle.
The City of Florence's Art Exposed Rotating Outdoor Art Gallery Program is a dynamic bi-annual rotation of public art that improves the livability of the Florence area, creates a unique sense of place, and enhances community identity, while also providing an increased economic impact for visitors and residents. Art Exposed offers the community a chance to view interesting, “fresh” artwork every two years at a low cost, while providing artists with an opportunity to display and sell their work to a wide audience. There are two galleries on display in Florence: Art Exposed Old Town and Art Exposed ReVision Florence.
Art Exposed Old Town closed its Call for Artists on November 8, 2024. The Public Arts Committee and the Art Exposed Subcommittee met in November to review the applications and begin discussing finalists. In an effort to engage with the Florence community, this page will serve as way for people to give feedback on the submissions. These comments will be part of the December 16, 2024, meeting of the Public Arts Committee, where the Committee will vote on the final pieces.
To view the submissions, please click on the file below entitled "Art Exposed Old Town Finalists." You can also learn about the Old Town Locations at "Art Exposed Old Town Locations."
Then, leave your comments in the form below by Wednesday, December 11. The Public Arts Committee would love to hear from you as they discuss the best fit for each of our Old Town gallery locations.
People may also submit comment in these ways:
1. Written Testimony: Citizens are encouraged to submit written comments since it allows the public body an opportunity to review and consider the remarks in advance of the public meeting. Written testimony may be submitted by:
- Email HERE.
- Mail to Florence City Hall; Attn: PAC, 250 Hwy 101, Florence, OR 97439.
- Drop off at City of Florence City Hall during regular office hours (8 a.m. - 12 p.m., 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) or at the City of Florence drop box located to the right of the main entrance.
NOTE: Written comments received at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting will be distributed to the Public Arts Committee, posted to the City of Florence website, and made part of the record.
2. Verbal Comments / Testimony: In order to provide verbal comments / testimony, citizens are required to complete a speaker's card at least 1 hour prior to the start of the meeting. Speaker's cards are available online HERE. Once a speaker's card is received, City Staff will contact the speaker to let them know the process to participate in the meeting. In order to be contacted, parties must complete the contact information in the speaker's card form.
The Public Arts Committee will be voting on Monday, December 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Florence City Hall, 250 Highway 101, with some members attending virtually through GoToWebinar.
The community is invited to come in person or attend online, but must submit public comment prior to the meeting. For more information or to sign up, please CLICK HERE.
