Adopt-a-Street

About the Adopt-A-Street Program

The City of Florence’s Adopt-A-Street Program is part of an effort to make our roadways litter free.  The program is voluntary and is a partnership designed for organizations, merchants and residents.  Each volunteer adopting group assumes responsibility for an assigned section of road or street and agrees to remove litter and trash a minimum of four times per year for a two-year period.  The City will work with the adopting group to select the specific section of street to be adopted.  Some streets may not be considered due to safety concerns.

Why Adopt a Street?

You can turn your favorite street into a street of dreams by participating in the Florence Adopt-A-Street Program.  This is a great way to give to the community while enjoying the benefits of a cleaner street.  The litter along our streets is washed into streams when it rains so keeping our streets clean is a step toward healthy streams.  The volunteers are provided fluorescent safety vests, gloves, litter bags and litter pickup tools. The debris that is collected is taken away by City crews.

One-Time Street Volunteer

If you are looking to participate in a one-day Adopt-A-Street event or project you may make a request and coordinate with the Adopt-A-Street Coordinator.  Requests should be made at least four weeks in advance by filling out a One-Time Adopt-A-Street volunteer Request which can be found below.
