Notice of City of Florence Budget Committee Meeting and State Revenue Sharing Funds

Public meetings of the Budget Committee of the City of Florence, Lane County, State of Oregon, on the budget for the biennium years July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2025, will be held in person.  Interested citizens may listen and view the meeting through the 'GotoWebinar' platform. For access to a link to the meetings, visit the City of Florence websites shown for each of the meetings below.

Meetings are also shown live on Cable Channel 191 and online at https://video.ibm.com/channel/Hjzx9zagzZc. Those without access to the internet or Charter Cable may listen to the meeting live via phone conference line. To do so, contact City Recorder Lindsey White at 541-997-3437.

  1. On May 1, 2023, 5:30 p.m., the Budget Message will be read;
  2. On May 8, 2023, directly after the FURA Budget Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m., public hearings will be conducted to receive public comments on the proposed budget and use of State Revenue Sharing funds; with deliberations to follow if time allows.  Any person may appear at the meeting to ask questions or provide comments.  Written comments may be submitted prior to 3:30 pm on May 8, 2023 to the Administrative Services Director’s Office, 250 Highway 101, Florence, OR 97439;
  3. On May 10, 2023, 5:30 p.m., the Budget Committee will deliberate on the proposed budget;
  4. On May 11, 2021, the Budget Committee will complete deliberations (as needed).

The Proposed Budget will be available on the City’s website at https://www.ci.florence.or.us/administrative-services/2023-2025-budget-information; or a copy may be inspected or obtained on May 2, or anytime thereafter, at Florence City Hall by appointment.

Persons wishing to address the Budget Committee may submit comments in writing or may provide verbal comments. Written testimony may be submitted by:

  • Email to the Administrative Services Director at anne.baker@ci.florence.or.us;
  • Mail to Florence City Hall; Attn: Budget Committee, 250 Hwy 101, Florence, OR 97439;
  • Drop off at City of Florence drop box located at Florence City Hall (250 Hwy 101) to the right of the main entrance.

** Note: Written comments must be received at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting to be distributed to the Budget Committee and made part of the record.

Citizens may provide verbal comments / testimony at the meeting via the GotoWebinar platform. In order to participate verbally at the meeting, citizens are required to complete a speaker’s card at least 1 hour prior to the start of the meeting. Speaker’s cards are, or will be, available online at www.ci.florence.or.us/bc-bc/request-address-budget-committee-speakers-card, or by contacting City Recorder Lindsey White via email or by phone at 541-997-3437.
